After graduation from dental school, Dr. Johnson worked with a national Health Maintenance Organization, or HMO, developing their first dental group practice. That experience prompted him to pursue a Master’s degree in health care administration with an emphasis in the use of computers as a management tool.
After graduate school, Dr. Johnson took a position with the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Health Department managing a large dental care program serving low income clients in Southeast Tennessee but returned to private practice for several years before becoming the program director for dental education at Chattanooga State Community College. At Chattanooga State, he developed online education courses for dental assistant and dental hygienist students and, using the skills developed in his master’s program, he created Dent ED Online to offer courses to licensed professionals as well.
Although retired, Dr. Johnson is still involved in all aspects of Dent ED Online including course development and management, software maintenance, quality control and community outreach. His goal is to provide the best possible learning experience for all dental professionals wishing to improve their patient treatment skills.

Dr. Ta grew up in a small college town called Davis in California. He spent a lot of this youth volunteering in the community. He wrestled in high school and raised pigs in the FFA. Dentistry was not his first career choice. He wanted to be a field biologist and research bacteria. His love for the micro world led him to pursue a bachelor's in microbiology and later work for a biotech company researching diatoms as an alternative energy source. After two years, Dr. Ta's desire to make an impact and serve the community inspired a career change and move to Cleveland, OH where he earned his Doctorate degree. His love for education did not stop there; he pursued additional training in General Practice Residency gaining skills in specialty fields such as oral surgery, endodontics, implantology, and pediatric dentistry. He is able to perform a full scope of dental procedures.
Besides his love for dentistry, Dr. Ta enjoys time in the outdoors. He loves to fish, hunt, rock climb, and kayak. He likes to search for rocks and make jewelry from them. He enjoys traveling and has been to more than 25 countries. He has a lot of interesting stories and loves to share them. His passion for helping other people inspired him to volunteer with Remote Area Medical doing dentistry all over the state of Tennessee. Additionally, Dr. Ta is passionate about helping others achieve their fullest potential. In dental school, he was a life coach for his peers. Dr. Ta believes that we all could achieve greatness if we want to. He is happy to call Cleveland, TN home.
